Sonya Wells, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, President

Sonya has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2018.  She currently works in Family Medicine; however, her experiences include Urgent Care, Adult Medicine, GYN, Addiction Medicine & Occupational Health. Her nursing background includes 10 yrs. of Surgical & Trauma ICU. She is very passionate about supporting & empowering the African American Nurse Practitioner in any way God leads her to. “She Believed she could, so she did.” -R.S. Grey

Brandi Roland, APRN, FNP-C, Vice President
Brandi Roland

Brandi has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2017. She currently holds a position in pain management, addiction medicine and research. She worked as a RN for 10 years before pursuing her career as a Nurse Practitioner. Her nursing background includes Medical ICU, Pediatric ICU and Trauma. Her goal is to empower & support upcoming and established advanced practitioners. “Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others”

Michelle Reynolds, APRN, FNP-C, Treasurer
Michelle Reynolds

Michelle has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2016. Michelle started her nursing journey as a home health aide, transitioned to a CNA, persevered to a RN, and steadfastly pursued her way to a Nurse Practitioner. Her nursing background consist of 14 years of critical care nursing. She currently works in Urgent Care as a nurse practitioner. She also has experience in family practice, occupation, and community health as a nurse practitioner. Michelle is a nominee of the Florence Nightingale award. Andrea Thomas, APRN, FNP-C, Secretary
Andrea Thomas

Andrea has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2016. She currently works in Neurosurgery specializing in Neurotrauma (Traumatic Brain Injury and spinal patients). Her experience also includes family medicine, research, and quality improvement initiatives. She worked as a nurse in the Neuroscience ICU for 11 years prior to becoming a nurse practitioner. Andrea is currently pursuing her Doctrine in Nursing at the University of Cincinnati with an anticipated graduation December 2021.  Andrea looks forward to being a mentor, advocate and educator for other African American nurse practitioners and nurse practitioner students. “When you learn, teach. Jaimee Colvin MSN, APRN, FNP-C is the Sergeant at Arms
Jaimee Colvin

Jaimee has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2017 and worked as a registered nurse in both the medical and cardiac intensive care units for 13 years prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner.  Her passion and heart is for the uninsured and underinsured community. She feels that working with this population gives her an opportunity to serve and render her talents and skills where most needed.  Jaimee is also an educator in both the nursing and nurse aide program. Jaimee opened a free standing, privately owned urgent care to serve the community she is passionate about.  Her most rewarding title and job is being a mother to her daughter. “The best gift you can give someone you love is a healthy you!” -Joyce Meyer
